Our mission is to provide comprehensive and compassionate support to those who have been affected by spinal cord injury, both directly and indirectly.
We are determined to provide further education, improve accessibility and provide specialist spinal cord injury equipment for regional areas.
By ensuring that everyone has access to services, regardless of their circumstance, we can show that we are Stronger Together.
Katherine’s Story
‘That would never happen to us’.
This is exactly what Katherine, her husband David and her children Chloe and Abbie had thought before that August night in 2021, when a devastating accident occurred. Katherine dived into a pool and sustained a C4/5 spinal cord injury, leaving her without use of her legs and partial use of her arms.
Dealing with the devastation of the injury and being away from family, all whilst being isolated from any visitors due to COVID, would render anyone inconsolable. However, Katherine is ‘The Unicorn’ and within weeks she had said “What can we do for others in this same situation?”
Stronger Together was born.

No, you are not seeing double. We have 2 brand new Kia Carnivals which are now booked in for conversions (our first is underway!). They will provide transportation for those affected by high level Spinal Cord Injury, which will be at no cost to the individual.
This is absolutely huge. Transportation, or lack of transportation, is one of the biggest hurdles that a person with a SCI will face when accessing services, attending medical appointments and even seeing friends and family. Although vehicle modification is possible for some, this is an expensive and often drawn out process, which renders most reliant on wheelchair accessible taxi’s, which are not always available and come at an additional cost to the individual.
Whether it be medical appointments, rehabilitation or a weekend catch up with family and loved ones. WE CAN HELP.
This is our first opportunity as an organisation to really make a difference and when I say ‘we’, I mean every single person who has donated to or supported our cause. We are excited and honoured to be able to provide this service for those that are in need and we extend our gratitude to the community for helping us achieve this.
